Our one-day introduction to machine polishing for professionals course is tailored for individuals who fall into one of the following categories:
- Those who have never had the opportunity to familiarise themselves fully with a machine before.
- Individuals who have exclusively used a single type of machine.
- Participants who have limited themselves to entry-level machines and basic techniques, and are now seeking to upgrade or refine their skills, focusing on a specific style such as rotary, long throw DA, or forced drive.
Throughout the course, we cover a variety of machines, including the Rupes LHR 15/21, Flex XFE, XCE, as well as rotary machines ranging from the sleek Flex PE14 to more robust Makita models. If you’re already familiar with Dual Action, but have never touched a rotary polisher, we can instead focus exclusively on giving you an introduction to this style of machine. Additionally, we have a diverse selection of over 26 machines available in-house. If you have a specific machine you’d like to bring along, please inform us on the day, and we’ll be glad to accommodate your preference.
For those with prior experience looking to broaden their skills with different machines and enhance their overall techniques, we offer a one-day Flexxpert course featuring Flex machines. Alternatively, for a comprehensive overview of various machine types, consider enrolling in our two-day Advanced Machine Polishing course.
The Introduction to Machine Polishing course not only focuses on hardware, but also delves into:
- Identifying surface defects and contamination.
- Implementing efficient and productive methods.
- Preparing and decontaminating surfaces correctly.
- Understanding paint readings.
- Identifying defects.
- Utilising paint thickness measurement techniques using Magnetic Resonance, Eddy Current, and Ultrasonic gauges.
- Making informed decisions on polishing techniques.
- Familiarising yourself with pad and compound types and selecting the appropriate ones.
- Perfecting finishing techniques.
- Exploring options for dressing, sealant/wax, and presentation.
- Prioritising health and safety practices.
The primary objective of this course is to equip you with the confidence to operate a machine polisher across various scenarios, empowering you to practice and refine the necessary techniques, adapting them to different situations and utilising the technology correctly to achieve full competency.
