At the UK Detailing Academy we have been busy preparing the training centre for re-opening after the COVID-19 lock-down. We have put a number of precautions in place to ensure the safety of staff and trainees, including sanitising stations, signage, and visitor guidance forms.
At this stage we are only offering one-to-one training sessions, enabling us to keep staff and visitor numbers to a minimum, making social distancing possible. Initially we are giving the Career Development Levels courses precedent as these are one-to-one and take place over two or three consecutive days – more information is available here
For those with training or assessments booked, please download our information form here so you can read and sign it in advance – this will save time on the day, and give you a chance to digest the information properly. Key areas include:
- Social Distancing – keeping a distance of 2 metres from any other individual at all times
- Surface Cleaning – all areas are cleaned daily to reduce the risk of cross-infection
- Equipment – all equipment, such as polishing machines, is cleaned and coated with a barrier solution
- Procedure – all training schedules and procedures have been reviewed to keep human contact to a minimum
- Capacity – normally we have up to 15 staff and trainees on site, we aim to keep that number below four during this time
- Risk Assessment – we have updated all of our risk assessments to include COVID-19 precautions
- Staff Training – our head trainer has completed a W.H.O. approved course specifically for post-COVID-19 operations
